in 1991 i was 15 years old and one night i was at a party at a friend of mines house in dansville ny.my friend happened to own a moped so i stole his keys and had the drunken idea to take it for a joyride about town. i was havin a ball until captian gung-ho spotted the headlight and hit his sirens. well is was pretty drunk so i said screw this cool guy and then procceded to make him chase me around this little town for over an hour. i was cuttin through peoples yards,flippin him off,i even pulled over a couple times,waited for him to get out of his car and would then take off again. finnally he called for back-up(i think he was to embaressed to call for back-up and say that he couldnt catch a kid on a moped)and two cars caught me. and i was immeditely arrested........handcuffed,and put in the back of the patrol car. they hit me with no helmet,no insurance,driving without a license,no regisration,no inspection sticker and DWI.i was convicted and had to do 45 days in the clink.my record was sealed. cause i was a youthfull offender,now granted u should not drive anything drunk but still i hate pigs and all of those other tickets and the chase were not called for sometimes cops just dont have anything better to do,they are all the same,and they all smell like ham.

You weren't endangering anyone too much, you were just driving drunk, and refusing to stop. Once he hit the lights, he had already run the plates ... not stopping you would have gotten his ass chewed.

I can't think of anything quite as stupid as trying to outrun the police in a moped ... they used as many cops as they needed to stop you without simply running you over and crushing you into hamburger. Then they arrested you.

Methinks you were lucky you were a kid ... getting crap like this on your adult record is enough to screw you for life, and doom you to pushing broom ... employers do run arrest records for higher paying jobs.

As for drunk drivers, one crippled me for life and almost killed one of my daughters. If I could have gotten out of the car (which took EMS 45 minutes to cut me out of) I'd have surely gone to jail for at least manslaughter.

Now irish, you STOLE his moped (by your own admission) rode drunk (assshole) and tresspassed on other peoples property, plus other laws were broken.

I wouldn't brag or be proud of any of that....you got what you had coming, maybe less.

Once, after an all night pool tournament at the Satelite Bar and Grille, I was riding home and my headlight burned out on my old Suzuki. I passed some hometown cops and they gave chase.

The chase ended with three of my neck vertabrea broken, plus a broken collar bone and a severe concussion.

On top of that I wasted my bike and I got a bunch of tickets which cost me a few weeks pay.

Oh yeah, my old man- (not Mr. Rodgers) was really pissed and would have beat my ass, except I was already in the hospital.

hey man come on,the whole joke was supposed to be who would actually try to out run the pigs on a moped.i was not trying to be takin seriously,or piss anyone off i have lost several friends over the years cause of dwi. but it was there own fault,they choose to drink and drive. i have never gotte a dwi. i have been a father since i was 16 and now at 31 i have 4 kids and i try to preserve my own life for thier sake i just try to make people laugh sorry dudes
