Today was going so well until I blew out my drive chain as I was leaving work. To make matters worse, two of the three pieces of the master link flew off to god knows where, so I'm going to need another one of those too. I don't live near a Tractor Supply Company, so I can't get replacement parts there, does anyone else know a retailer that carries such things in Tucson?

edited Oops, sorry all, don't know why but my browser was just not showing the chain parts on the website. I'll place the order tonight

Also, what would be the advisability of using the chainbreaker to make a solid chain, as a temporary measure until I can get some new parts? Have to make arrangements to get to work and back, if that's a jury-rigged chain or just a bunch of dollar bills to ride the bus, lol

Well, until it skips off and needs to be replaced, or any other other things that having a quick release thru the master link is good for. I take it this would probably not be a good idea?

I wasn't being sarcastic, it really is best if you can remove the masterlink and not use one at all. A chain breaker is ideal for these bikes, you will have to buy a motorcycle sized one though, I don't think the small Parks 5 or Bell P.O.S. will do it.

Bell chain tool works just fine. Been using mine for years. Only $4.00 at wallmart.

Terry, if you have been using the Bell tool from chinamart on the engines drive chain, you must have gotten a one-in-a-thousand piece. I have gone through a couple on REGULAR bike chain.

They are for the most part (apeperently junk pot metal crap from china.
