TOPIC: Intake port porting

Intake port porting 1 year, 6 months ago #4458

I've been doing some light porting and polishing on my 80cc motor and I noticed before I removed the cylinder that the piston almost drops down below the intake port, in other words, when the piston is at bottom dead center the top of the piston is almost below the intake. Is it suppost to? I'm not too familiar with 2 strokes. Should I port it so it does? (so at bottom dead center the intake and side ports will be open) All help is appreciated thanks
