well i just got my motor bike rebuilt after about 3 weeks of rebuild and i hear the motor will make a whine noise or a whistle kinda sound. i took of the cluch cover like you said joe and cleaned and re oiled it. still dose it. i actually noticed sometimes the bike will go super silent and i can hear nothing but exhaust. so i know something is up but idk. could it be just the carb?? thx<br><br>Post edited by: schwinnrider, at: 2007/07/10 07:19

I've heard that these engines make a whistling noise before....mine never did but I am guessing it's one of a few things. Carbon build up in the exhaust, gears, or maybe, just maybe, there is something else on the bike that the wind goes through and make the whistling sound. It could come and go depending on things like wind direction as you ride, body positioning ect.

I would not worry too much unless it suddenly become worse. Keep me posted.

well i oiled the gears and i actually went to the hardware store and baught hex key bolts for all three covers that go on the motor he noise has actually stoped i thnk since i put the oil on it. and i think the wind might be in play with it and it is really hot here in phoenix so i herd the heat can actually the noise but i dont know. but thanks

well i was rideing home from work today and it still makes the noise but it only dose it when i throttle. im thinking the gears? mabey clean and re grease? but otherwise the bike is perfect. let me know what i should do if anyone has ideas. thx

When you say you oiled the gears....I hope you are using grease and not actual oil. Oil will last a few miles if that, and has no dampening effect. Use some wheel bearing grease or white litium greas. If nothing else, use any grease you can find from a regular grease gun. Just a little bit too...spread it on the gears as you turn them and try not to get it near or on the clutch.

yes grease is what i used but it is alot louder now and its a high pitch sound. and it really annoying. but anyideas will help. im hopeing to get alot of cool stuff for it but i need the noise gone.
